# Basic Principles

The GoDaddy Poynt App Center is open platform designed to bring highly efficient solutions to merchants in partnership with merchant acquirers and other important distribution partners.

This strategy leverages mobile best practices to create a thriving ecosystem based on Android principles. All of this allows new developers to get started easily and connect their knowledge and ideas with thousands of active businesses.

Additionally, we have strived to maintain a level-playing field for developers, where quality and value are the key indicators for success. Our goal is to maintain a marketplace where every merchant can see all the applications that developers have to offer.

# Considerations

GoDaddy Poynt's responsibility as the ecosystem custodian is to ensure mutual, balanced benefits for all participants through the thoughtful development and enforcement of transparent policies.

It's essential to keep in mind some of the considerations pertaining the App Center as they will help you understand how the environment works to ensure an effective interaction with out platform.

• GoDaddy Poynt is the custodian of the ecosystem, not the owner. This means that we are able to regulate applications and specific functionalities to ensure merchant satisfaction. However, transactional data is always owned by the merchant and managed by GoDaddy Poynt.

  WARNING!

  Reselling data from GoDaddy Poynt or any merchant is strictly prohibited and may result in a ban from the app ecosystem as well as legal actions.

• Collection of data related to other applications on the GoDaddy Poynt Platform without express written permission is also prohibited.

• The ecosystem consists of distributors, developers, and merchants. The role of distributors is to provide access to Smart Terminals while Developers are in charge of designing web and POS solutions that drive business growth for merchants.

• GoDaddy Poynt is responsible for vetting, analyzing and approving applications as well as enforcing the ecosystem policies.

• The alignment between policies and principles for distribution partners is essential, and GoDaddy Poynt is committed to maintain this alignment to ensure the benefit of all parties involved. For this reason GoDaddy Poynt will work with partners to define the appropriate developer and application policies.

• Developers are not allowed to compete with a distribution partner’s core business under any circumstance.

• Strategic distribution partners may distribute their own applications (up to 5 applications) free of revenue share.

# Quality & Performance Standards

Our objective for the app center is to provide a dynamic and positive experience for merchants. To achieve this, developers must maintain a high level of quality to continue being a part of the GoDaddy Poynt app ecosystem.

One of the most important requirements is providing an adequate level of support for merchants using their applications. Applications that fall short when providing the promised value to merchants, resulting in persistent negative feedback could be subject to temporary suspension or removal from the ecosystem at the sole discretion of GoDaddy Poynt.

Distribution partners are encouraged but not required to learn about the applications available in the App Center to help merchants optimize and grow their businesses. Additionally, GoDaddy Poynt is committed to creating the best user experience for each individual merchant, making it easy for businesses to learn and try apps and bundles.

# App Center Experience

Merchant application bundling, matching and discovery is critical for the growth of the app center and will be strategized by GoDaddy Poynt using an optimized matching process for quality, relevance and usefulness depending on the type of merchant. We will provide the best matching on the HQ Portal and terminal to maintain merchant trust with 30 days free with single-click signup.

Application that are not matched will still be made available in a well-organized directory, in accordance to GoDaddy Poynt’s custodial duties to provide an open and balanced ecosystem. Additionally, the usage of the Poynt Cloud APIs and Cloud Messaging infrastructure will be monitored and where needed, throttled, to provide uninterrupted services for merchants.

# Partner Recommendations

Partner app recommendations are encouraged by GoDaddy Poynt as long as they conform to the App Ecosystem principles and regulations. Therefore, partners are allowed to the following:

• Make recommendations for apps or bundles that will enhance the merchant experience.

• Sell their own bundles (this is subject to GoDaddy Poynt approval).
